Time to get started
After an hour or so fussing around, looking in boxes, and wondering if I’ll ever work out what all these odd-shaped bits really are, I decided it was time to get started. Chapter 1 of the build manual seems as good a place as any, so off we go. The first thing it says is to read the build manual from start to finish before you start anything. As it happens, I’ve already done this! The manual is available online, and I downloaded it some time ago and printed it off to read through in advance. I know men have a love/hate relationship with instruction manuals, but this time it really is a good idea to read it through first. The kit arrives!
The kit arrived at 11am, which just about gave me time to collect and assemble the crane and move my 911 out of the garage in order to make space. The crane was supplied by a client of mine, Rolson Tools, who were my natural first port of call when it came to colecting together the tools I needed. It just about fit into the old Land Rover I keep for lugging stuff about and for coping in the snow.
